Dinner Details
Join us at Tuesday, October 17 (5:30 - 7:30 pm), at Finnriver Farm & Cidery, where we will share a fresh and healthy meal prepared by local chefs, along with Chimacum, Port Townsend, and Quilcene Schools’ Food Service Directors and students from the school Culinary Arts classes. Our program will feature photos and stories of progress, updates from Community Wellness Project and partner schools, dreams for the future, a special guest or two, and a pinch of magic.

  • Adult tickets are $75

  • Kid tickets (through age 11) are $15, and will include an adult-supervised pizza party on site

  • Sponsor a teacher or school support staff hero for $37.50! (We will invite a staff member to attend as our guest for each staff ticket purchased.)

Begin the evening with appetizers and tastings. Our featured main dish this year is a local spin on Salade Niçoise, including luscious school- and locally-grown greens and vegetables, a choice of salmon or tempeh, and bread (gluten free and vegan options available!) End the meal with desserts prepared by Culinary Arts students.

This year contributions made at the Harvest Dinner will support school gardens and garden education across East Jefferson County, from preschool through graduation. Gardens are wonderful learning laboratories—where students can see academic lessons come to life in a multitude of ways. But what’s more, research shows that students who plant, cultivate, harvest, and taste fresh food in school gardens are much more likely to eat it in school meals, and at home! And when kids have enough fresh, nutrient-dense, whole food, they are better able to learn, grow, and thrive.

We celebrate any level of support! All gifts make a difference, and all are tax deductible.

Sometimes a “cause” resonates and someone feels compelled to give a special gift to ensure the success of a project or mission. If our mission to provide healthy, local food to all students in East Jefferson County inspires you to give a special gift, please read on….

*Tillers: $100 (“Till the soil” of transformation—$100 purchases about 20 pounds of locally grown meat, dairy, and produce)

*Seeders: $250 (“Seed” possibility, by supporting garden education where kids can get their hands in the dirt and learn where food comes from!)

*Propagators: $500 (“Propagate” change, by helping fund cooking classes for students)

*Cultivators: $750 (“Cultivate” a sense of place and belonging for our students, by giving them opportunities to meet and learn from their farmers and food producers)

*Feeders: $1000 (“Feed” kids, feed garden programs, feed farms, feed a future filled with health, resilience, and wellbeing! $1000 buys 200 lbs or more of fresh, and local food!)

*Sustainers: $1500 and up! (Your sustaining gift of $1500 or more keeps our gardens and cafeterias growing and thriving!)

We invite you to consider a $1,000 donation to our Harvest Dinner. That $1,000 will go directly into school gardens & orchard programs this year!

Thanks for working together with us to cultivate the health, resiliency and well-being of students and families in Jefferson County.

I’m sorry to miss this year’s event, but want to donate to the Harvest Dinner fund to make school gardens possible for kids in East Jefferson County.
