Teaching Gardens for grades PreSchool - 6

Garden education is offered at Chimacum, Quilcene, and Port Townsend primary and elementary schools. It looks a little different in each district, as programs are tailored and managed according to the needs of each district. CWP supports garden education at all three of these districts, but we currently manage the gardens and provide all programming at Chimacum.

School gardens were launched at Chimacum Elementary in the spring of 2019, and at Chimacum Creek Primary in the fall of 2019. Each week our Garden Educators work with children on two campuses, planting, tending, harvesting, tasting, and learning together in the garden. We grow food for cooking classes, and when we have extra we share with Food Services for use in school cafeterias!
