Rachael van laanen, President
Rachael Van Laanen co-runs a small goat dairy with her family on Marrowstone Island. Her kids attend Chimacum Schools. When she is not tending to goats, milk or cheese she loves to have her hands in a big garden or weaving a willow basket.
kathryn lamka, Secretary/Treasurer
Kathryn Lamka is a former secondary school teacher, IBM Systems Engineer and independent consultant. She believes one’s life experiences all have a hand in where one ends up. In this “sweet spot” where she lives today, she has found a good fit for her teaching and business skills, her dreams for educational opportunities and her passion for supporting healthy choices for all.
Crystie Kisler
Crystie Kisler lives and works at Finnriver Farm & Cidery in the Chimacum Valley on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. A former school teacher, she works with her partners and crew to grow Finnriver into a vibrant enterprise that showcases how rural economic development, ecological restoration and organic agriculture can all converge and thrive. Crystie’s mission in life is to help reconnect people to the land that sustains us!
Shelby Smith
Shelby is a graduate of Chimacum Schools, the spouse of a teacher, and the mother of two children in the district. Her professional career has been focused in environmental education, conservation, nonprofit operations, and community development; she feels the work of the Community Wellness Project is the perfect nexus of head and heart.
